Bali sits in warm, humid heat most of the year, and babies regulate their temperature far less efficiently than adults. The winning formula is loose and light: airy muslin pieces that cover the skin softly while still letting heat and sweat escape. A romper or playsuit for the day, a light set for the evening, and breathable pyjamas for warm nights cover most of family life.
Sun is the other half of the equation. Light clothing plus a wide-brim hat gives gentle everyday shade for arms, shoulders and the back of the neck, which is easier than chasing sunscreen over every inch of a squirming baby. Keep little ones in the shade during the strongest midday hours and out of direct sun where you can.
Layer for the swings between a hot beach, a cool café and an air-conditioned car — a light extra piece you can add or peel off beats one heavy outfit. And in the heat, offer fluids often; fabric keeps babies comfortable, but shade and hydration keep them safe.
