Born in Bali · 2021
The little girl who started it all, and the clothes we found for her.

01The moment
Our daughter was born on the Island of the Gods in 2021, a home birth, in our own bed, with an angel of a midwife beside us. From her very first days we wanted to wrap her in something soft enough for brand-new skin and cool enough for the island air. We looked everywhere. We couldn't find it.

02The gap
What we kept finding was synthetic fabric that trapped the heat, stiff seams that pressed red lines into her skin, and cheap little pieces that faded and fell apart after a few trips through the wash. Other young-parent friends were saying exactly the same thing. So we decided to make the clothes we wished existed.

03 · The making
We settled on double-layer muslin cotton, pre-washed so it arrives already soft, with an open weave that lets air move and flat seams that lie gently against new skin. Nothing about it is an accident. Every piece is a deliberate quality decision, sewn to be worn a hundred times, not fifteen.

04Why Bali stays in it
We still live here, and the tropics are our design brief. If a fabric keeps our daughter cool through a 32°C afternoon in Bali, it will keep yours comfortable anywhere. The heat isn't a marketing line. It's the test every piece has to pass.
The invitation
Today we source enough to share with families like yours, wherever you're raising your little ones. Thank you for dressing your child in something we first found for ours.
With love, Vanessa & Bob
